Tuesday ride to Somerford Keynes 19/04/2011
The first longer Tuesday ride of 2011 and time for coffe and cake at Tetbury. The theme for Tuesday excursions is a day out on your bike - not necessarily covering hundreds of miles but taking all day to cycle some roads further away from home than usual with a break every fifteen miles or so.
A lot of those long sleeved tops came off as the day warmed up.
The lunch stop was the Bakers Arms at Somerford Keynes, a typical English country pub in a typical Wiltshire village. We ate in the garden enjoying the sunshine.
Bill Balchin is normally behind the camera rather than in front. But when Bill had the only puncture of the day the team ralleid round to help and Dennis captured the proceedings on film.
John was so worried about Bill's loss of pressure to the brain that he pumped his head up a bit.
This is more like it, cruising the lanes in the sunshine in short sleeves. Dave Ashton has not been able to join us for a while after deep vein thrombosis trouble but was out today on the best bike sporting a natty line compression stockings - flesh coloured so you may not be able to spot them. Dennis ensured that the seams were straight.
